PrimeBJJ couldn’t have hoped for a better showing this past weekend while representing Colorado Springs Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes at the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) Atlanta Open tournament.
3 of the team’s top competitors, Cameron Hilfers (blue belt), Mo Black (purple belt) and Black Belt Professor Marcelo Motta himself all travelled to Atlanta ready to fight their way to the top over the weekend. Professor Marcelo placed 1st in his leight weight division earning a gold medal, winning all fights by cross-collar submissions. Mo Black won all of her fights by submission as well, taking the back of her opponent each time to claim her gold medal. And Cameron Hilfers, a new blue belt in the teen division, fought his way to victory earning the team’s 3rd gold medal of the day on Saturday.
Professor Marcelo’s division wrapped up for the weekend, while Mo Black and Cameron Hilfers both went on to win gold medals in No-Gi on Sunday. Mo Black earned her purple belt on the battle field to complete a weekend of victories, deepened bonds between teammates, and memories to last a lifetime. This is the good stuff in life.
